Document Exchange

⏱️ 1min 40sec

You can use the Document Exchange to request documents from other Leo users or third parties, which they can then upload to Leo. Typically, the documents you request would provide supporting information for reports, but they could be anything. An example might be proof of identity, such as a passport or a utility bill.

You can set up document requests within a report – wherever they are needed as supporting information. Users can upload the document to the report (for a specific question, or as a generic upload using the Attachments option).

You can also make Document Exchange requests by email – which you can send to both existing Leo users and also people who are not registered with Leo. The emails contain a secure link for the requestee to upload the documents that you need from them.

You can request more than one document at a time. In a report, insert each document request in the appropriate place in the report template. For requests by email, click the ‘+’ button to add another document to the request list.

To create a Document Request, follow these steps:

  • On the Home Page, click Document Exchange
  • Click the Green NEW REQUEST button
  • Fill in the fields on the pop-up Add Document Request form, including the:
    • Name of Request: the name by which the request will be listed in Document Exchange
    • Expires On: the deadline for the request; the date by which you need the document
    • Requestee Name and Requestee Email: for the person to whom you are sending your request
    • Requested Documents box: the document(s) that you need from the requestee, such as a driving license or utility bill
  • Click SAVE. If you’re ready to send the request, click SEND
  • Leo will automatically email the requestee with a secure link to your completed Document Request, where they can upload the document(s) you asked for.
